Willmer Bill Morris, Sr. Obituary (1942

Mr. Willmer "Bill" Morris, Sr., age 70, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on October 25, 1942 in Jackson, Kentucky. He was the loving son of the late, Henry Sr. and Dicie Shouse Morris. He was raised in Jackson moving to Jefferson County in 1956. Bill was united in marriage to Gaylean Pennington on October 14, 1962 at the North Madison Baptist Church. This happy union was blessed with a daughter and two sons. He was first employed for five years with Rex Chain Belt in Madison. He then began a career as a master electrician with the Indiana Kentucky Electric Corporation, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Concord Church of God, Jefferson Post 9, of the American Legion, the Madison Bass Masters Club, and the Switzerland County Sportsman Club. He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, his rose garden, gardening, flowers, and his dogs. Bill died Friday, April 12, 2013 at 5:05 a.m. at the Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Bill will be missed by his loving wife of fifty years: Gaylean Pennington Morris of Madison, Indiana; his loving daughter: Sherry Boley and her companion, Norman Kruzich of Madison, Indiana; his loving sons: Willmer Morris, Jr. and his wife, Teresa of Madison, Indiana, Garry Morris of Canaan, Indiana; his loving grandchildren: Kimberly Renee Boley Delgado, Justin David Boley, Devin Nathaniel Boley, Brittney Lynn Boley, Daphne Nicole Morris Land, Leslie Michelle Morris, Kelsey Brooke Morris, Kole Allen Morris, McKenzie Lane Morris, Adam Douglas Griffin, Amber Nicole Griffin, Jalen Todd Morris, Jordan Chase Morris; his adoring great grandchildren: Conner, Maya, MaKayla, Nicholas, Nevaeh, Kory, Bentley, Kylie and Ryder; his brothers: Harvey Morris and his wife, Wanda of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Earl Morris and his wife, Marilyn of Bennington, Indiana; his sisters: Dot Overpeck and her husband, Rick of Grapevine, Texas, Virginia Stephan and her husband, Alois of Canaan, Indiana, Malvary Morris of Liberty, Kentucky; his twin sister: Lydia Ann Lainhart and her husband, Darrell of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; his brothers in law and sisters in law: Lindburg and Shirley Couch of Deputy, Indiana; Lovina Howard, Trisha Ann Howard and James Howard of all of Harlan County, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sr. and Dicie Shouse Morris; his brothers, Virgil, Henry, Jr., R.T. & Bobby R. Morris; his sisters, Alberta Morris, Betty Avis Dalton, Flora Ellen Reynolds; his brothers in law, James Lee and Nathan Pennington. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., by the Rev. Wayne Mahoney at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Canaan Cemetery in Canaan, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 12 Noon until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
