William Elsby "Bill" Sprinkle Obituary (1942

Let Us Pause To Honor the Memory of Mr. William Elsby "Bill" Sprinkle Mr. William Elsby "Bill" Sprinkle, age 74, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on March 28, 1942 in Tell City, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late, Noble, Sr. and Anna Hardesty Sprinkle. He was a graduate of Tell City High School and a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church. Bill was inducted into the United States Navy August 30, 1961 in Perry County, Indiana. He rose to the rate of Seaman during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Valley Forge (LPH-8) out of Long Beach, California. He was honorably discharged on August 29, 1963 in Long Beach, California and remained in the Reserves until being discharged on August 21, 1966. Bill was employed with the Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis, Indiana for 30 years retiring in 1994 as a committeeman. On July 26, 1990 he was united in marriage to Laraine Pinkston in Greenfield, Indiana. Bill resided in New Palestine from 1976-1997 when he moved to the Madison community. He also owned his favorite destination point on Dale Hollow Lake in Celina, Tennessee where you would often find him on a boat. Bill was a great collector of things, enjoyed carpentry, hunting, boating, fixing or building anything, avid outdoors man and loving on his dogs, Bud and Molly. Bill enjoyed his memberships in Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion, Vevay VFW Post 5396 and Madison VFW Post 1969. Bill died on Friday, April 1, 2016, at 6:40 a.m. at his home near Madison, Indiana. Click Here for Funeral Service or Tribute VideoA LOVING FAMILY Bill will be missed by his loving wife of nearly 26 years, Laraine Pinkston Sprinkle of Madison, Indiana; two sons, Michael Sprinkle and his wife, Nancy of Boggstown, Indiana, Rodney Sprinkle of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two step sons, Christopher Barton and his wife, Kim of Indianapolis, Indiana, Steven Barton and his wife, Jodi of McCordsville, Indiana; his grandchildren, Justin Sprinkle, Joshua Sprinkle, and Shelby Sprinkle; 8-step grandchildren and 3-great grandchildren; his sister, Glenda Etienne of Tell City, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble, Sr. and Anna Hardesty Sprinkle, and his brother, Noble Sprinkle, Jr. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., by Chaplain Ray Kirouac at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.
