William Ralph "Bill" Painter, Jr. Obituary (1950

Mr. William Ralph "Bill" Painter, age 76, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on January 13, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the loving son of the late William Ralph, Sr. and Joyce Helen Myers Painter. He resided his early life in Cincinnati and Dillsboro. He graduated high school and had attended college for a time. He was inducted into the United States Army on December 4, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He rose to the rate of private serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on November 11, 1970 from Fort Lewis, Washington, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He worked for 42 years with the Boilermakers and Blacksmiths Union and retired from the Savannah Nite Limousine Company in Hamilton, Ohio. He resided in Hamilton, Ohio for 22 years, and the past nine years in Madison. He was a member of the American Pool Players and the Woodlands and Wildlife Refuge. He loved to play pool, loved his dogs, was a Beatles fan and enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, socializing at Walmart, and had collected over 7000 movies on dvd. Bill died on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2:55 p.m. at the Norton Pavilion Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Please Click Here to View the Video Tribute Please Click Here to View the Funeral Service Recording A LOVING FAMILY Bill will be missed by his companion of 22 years, Samantha Jones-Painter of Middletown, Ohio; his daughter, Alexis Jones and her fiance, Michael Kenworthy of Madison, Indiana; his granddaughter, Revonna Pinson; his nieces and his nephews, Noah Etzwiler, Linda Etzwiler, Jessica Henderson, Zoey Henderson, Jesse Henderson (Jenna Brierly), Conner Delgado, Jayden Jones, Bobby Jo Brown, Nissa Brown, Jimmy Owens, Kelsey Jones, Zachary Jones; his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Hall and her husband, Jamie of Hanover, Indiana, Julie Henderson of Madison, Indiana, Rebecca Jones, Kevin Sullivan and his wife Angela, Roger Estes, Susan Estes, Crystal Jones, Waynie Jones and wife Billie, Jackie Richards, Debby Brown; his best friend, Jesse Henderson; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, William Ralph Painter, Sr., his mother, Joyce Helen Myers Painter, his sister, and his dogs, Demon, Nishka, and Cheyenne. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., by Pastor Jamie Hall at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery,1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may visit Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. MILITARY HONORSA final salute with military honors will be provided by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
