Mrs. Theresa Ann Wineland

Theresa Ann Wineland, 63, of Bedford, Kentucky, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born in 1952 in Richmond, Indiana to Robert and Margaret Butler she is survived by her husband Jon and three siblings, Beth, Judy, and Andrew Butler of New York, Atlanta and Nebraska. Ann spent her childhood in Richmond and Marion, Indiana. She graduated from Indiana University in 1974, majoring in Romance Languages, followed by an immersion bicycle tour in Europe. She settled in Indianapolis, opened a photo laboratory and did free-lance photography. After earning a comprehensive Health Care Administrator license in 1988, Ann ran homes in Madison and Scottsburg before marriage and a move to England where she worked with the Hampshire Association for the Care of the Blind. She continued her career at nursing homes in Brookville, Hanover and North Vernon before retiring in 2005. Ann's passionate interests included environmental conservation and social justice. An avid cyclist and gardener, she loved yoga, cats, and music especially opera and was a member of the Madison Area Bicycle Club since 2000. Ann was a courageous cancer survivor of 36 years, overcoming multiple malignancies through luck, unrelenting pursuit of nutrition, physical fitness and maintaining a calm focus on living well in spite of overwhelming adversity. She often said, "It's Important to be Hard to Kill."

Friends may call Saturday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
