Steven Ray "Steve" Lee

Mr. Steven Ray Lee, age 50, a lifelong resident of Madison, Indiana entered this life on June 7, 1966 in Evansville, Indiana. He was the loving son of James H. Lee, Sr. and Elizabeth A. "Cookie" Cox Lee. He resided nearly all of his life in Madison and was a 1984 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School where he played football. Steve was inducted into the United States Navy after high school served until he was honorably discharged in 1994 with the rate of Petty Officer Second Class. Steve returned home to and lived in downtown Madison enjoying the many festivals and events hosted by the community. He served as a Safety Supervisor for the Madison Regatta and enjoyed sharing his grilling expertise at Ribberfest. He loved his nephew and nieces, always taking the time to help them with a worthwhile cause, and he enjoyed helping his sister and brother with numerous family projects. He also enjoyed caring for his cats, Miss Kitty and Fat Boy. He was a member of the Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion and served on the Honor Guard. Steve never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Steve passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 5:17 a.m. at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY
Steven will be missed by his loving mother and father, James H. Lee, Sr. and Elizabeth A. "Cookie" Cox Lee of Madison, Indiana; his sister, Melissa Lee Miller and her husband, Todd of Madison, Indiana; his brothers, Maurice Lee of Littleton, Colorado, James H. Lee, Jr. and his wife, Lindsy of Madison, Indiana; his nephews and nieces, Nigel Wells, Raven, Jaylin, Jayme, and Jayda Lee; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his sister, Michaelynn A. "Miki" Lee died July 4, 1992; his grandmother, Annie Hawkins; his grandfather, Carl Hawkins.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 13, 2017, at 4:00 p.m., by Pastor Jeffrey Pflug at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road Madison, Indiana.
MILITARY HONORS
Full military honors will be conducted at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery by the United States Naval Ceremonial Unit and the Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.
VISITATION
Friends may call Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.
