Stephen K. White

Mr. Stephen K. White , age 77, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on December 14, 1943 in New Albany, Indiana. He was the son of the late Gene and Helen Burns Smith. He was raised in New Albany and graduated there in 1962. Steve was raised Catholic and enjoyed playing softball, fishing and watching Nascar. On December 7, 1974 he was united in marriage to Pearl Frances Chatham at her parents home. He worked for 31 years with Colgate Palmolive in Jeffersonville retiring as a technician. He later worked for ten years with Wolohan Lumber and three years at Big Blue in Madison. He had last worked building decks and storage buildings for four years. Stephen died on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 12:06 a.m. at his home in Madison, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY Stephen will be missed by his loving wife of 46 years, Pearl Frances Chatham White of Madison, Indiana; his daughter, Kelley Lawson and her husband, Tommy of New Albany, Indiana; his grandchildren, Cassandra Nycole White and Ethan Wayne White; his great grandchildren, Kennedy, Klara, Pearl, Paizlee, Zayden, and Eric; his brothers, Jarvis White of Palmyra, Indiana, Gary Cole (Debbie) of Clarksville, Indiana; his sister, Janice Goodwin (Tom) of Ohio; his mother in law, June Tipton Chatham of Madison, Indiana; his brothers in law, Michael Chatham (Sherrye) of Madison, Indiana, Otis L. Chatham (Caylene) of Nebraska; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his step father, Gene Smith, his mother, Helen Burns Smith, his son, Eric Stephen White, died October 24, 2000, his brother in law, Gregory Charles Chatham, died July 26, 1989, and his father in law, Charles R. Chatham, died April 5, 2008.

STEVE'S WISHESSteve chose cremation with no formal service to be held.
