Sherilyn Jo "Sherry" Block Monroe Obituary (1947

Mrs. Sherilyn Jo "Sherry" Block Monroe, age 78 of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on April 2, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the loving daughter of the late Louis W. and Jean C. Neal Block. She was united in marriage on February 14, 1969 to Robert Eugene Monroe at the North Madison Christian Church in Madison, Indiana by Bro. Ted Kaiser. She helped her husband Bob with his business, "Bob's Garage" for 46 years. She worked early in life for the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Madison and then co-owned and co-operated the Perfect Gift Bookstore in Madison. She later worked as the cashier for Mike's Grill in Madison. She loved flowers and enjoyed helping at Colonial Flowers in downtown Madison. She loved to sew, do needlework, cook and feed the birds. She was a member of the North Madison Christian Church in Madison. Sherry died on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 6:07 p.m. at the River Terrace Health Campus in Madison, Indiana. Please Click Here to View the Video Tribute Please Click Here to View the Funeral Service Recording A LOVING FAMILY Sherry will be missed by her grandchildren, McKenzie, Nathan, Destiny, Robert Alan, Jackson and Junior; her sister, Linda Asher and her husband Robert of Madison, Indiana; her brother, Rick Block and his wife Kim of Madison, Indiana; her sister-in-law, Regina "Cookie" Block of Madison, Indiana; her nieces and nephews, Katie Jackson, Molly McCulley, Kelly Combs, Jennifer Durand, Greg Goins, Darlene King, Cristy James, Buddy Asher, and Melinda Downey; several great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis W. Block, her mother, Jean C. Neal Block, her husband of 51 years, Robert Eugene Monroe, died November 19, 2020, her brothers, Denny Ray Block, died July 8, 2009 and Louis "Tink" Block, Jr. died in 2025, her son, Dean Alan Monroe, died May 28, 2019, and her niece, Amy Neely. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., by Bro. Bob Hicks at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may visit Saturday, March 7, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
