Robert Joseph Brierly

Mr. Robert Joseph "Bobby" Brierly, age 68, of Milton, Kentucky entered this life on July 16, 1944 in Trimble County, Kentucky. He was the loving son of the late, Robert Ernest and Sally Kate Fitzgerald Brierly. He resided most all of his life in Trimble County, Kentucky. He was baptized and a member of the Corn Creek Baptist Church in Trimble County. He was united in marriage to Linda Temple on October 22, 1966 at the Antioch Baptist Church in Trimble County. This union was blessed with two sons, Gregory Allen and Michael Joseph and a daughter, Melissa. Bobby was employed for over forty years as a machinist with Reliance Electric Company in Madison. He had worked early in life at the Sunoco Service Station in Trimble County. A later marriage on October 19, 1990 in Milton, Kentucky was to Shirley E. Gaines. This happy union merged two families together. Bobby found great enjoyment in watching TV, wrestling, avid UK fan and mowing the grass. He was a member of Union Local 1109 International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. He was awaiting the birth of his sixth great grandchild. Bobby died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 7:00 a.m. at his home near Milton, Kentucky. A LOVING FAMILY Bobby will be missed by his loving wife: Shirley E. Gaines Brierly of Milton, Kentucky; his loving son: Michael Joseph Brierly of Milton, Kentucky; his loving daughters: Melissa Brierly Kendall and her husband, the Rev. Chris Kendall of Milton, Kentucky, Melissa Jo Sharon and her companion, John Davis of Erlanger, Kentucky, Janet Nevins and her husband, John Michael Nevins of Madison, Indiana; his father in law: Bob Sands of Bedford, Kentucky; his sisters: Linda Miller and her husband, Duane of Hanover, Indiana, Brenda Dahlem and her husband, George of Madison, Indiana; his grandchildren: Nikki, Natasha, Megan, Marshall James, Kenneth Perry, Michael Anthony, Shaun, Sierra, Jennifer & Kathryn; his great grandchildren: Kevin Michael, Braiyden, Keyona, Matashia, Cory & Hadley; his sisters in law & brothers in law: Sharon Ogden of Hanover, Indiana, Shelby Dean McClure of Milton, Kentucky, John C. Gaines and his wife, Nancy of Milton, Kentucky, Paul Sands and Roger Sands of both of Scottsburg, Indiana, Steve Sands and his wife Wilma of New Albany, Indiana; his aunt: Martha Bayne of LaGrange, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ernest and Sally Kate Fitzgerald Brierly; his son, Gregory Allen Brierly died, November 25, 1995; his grandson, Kevin Michael Nevins, died, January 28, 1998; his brothers, Ernest and Donald Brierly; his mother in law, Bessie Gaines Sands died, December 21, 2011. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 6:00 p.m., by the Rev. Chris Kendall and the Rev. Dianne Reistroffer at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow later in the New Castle Cemetery, New Castle, Kentucky. VISITATION Friends may call Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
