Rejane G. Pereira Detmer Obituary (1968

Rejane Goretti Pereira Detmer, age 55, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on April 5, 1968 in Itabuna, Brazil. She was the loving daughter of Pedro Bibiano Pereira, Sr. and Maria Santos Pereira. She was raised in Itabuna, graduated school there and was raised Catholic. She was very spiritual, and her Brazilian culture was very important in her life. Rejane's American adventure began when she unexpectedly met Daryl Detmer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on November 24, 1991. Those two hit it off and within six months, Rejane moved to the United States on June 13, 1992 and was united in marriage on July 25, 1992, in Milton, Kentucky at her future father-in-law's home. Those two then began their life together as they built their own home, learned each other's languages, and welcomed their daughter in 1997. Ultimately, Rejane became an American citizen in 2005, and for that, she was extremely proud. Rejane explored different paths in her life. She co-owned Trakinagem, a children's clothing store in Brazil with her sister Rosana. In 1994, Rejane started her own business in the United States which was known as Rejane's Baskets. For 10 years, she hand-crafted baskets in their home and attended various trade shows. She was also involved in GranBrazil, Inc since the business began in 2002. Rejane treasured her role as a mother to Amanda as this gave her the utmost pride and joy in her life. Rejane also enjoyed fashion, interior decorating, cooking, and traveling the world with her husband and daughter, with some of their favorite spots being Aruba and Brazil. She took great joy in watching her daughter play golf across the country throughout high school and college. Rejane loved her beautiful country of Brazil and felt intense pride being a Brazilian. Rejane's extended family reside in Brazil and that was her home for 24 years. She loved wearing green and yellow to support her country and was a big soccer fan, especially during times such as the World Cup and the Olympics. Rejane enjoyed the companionship of her dog, Lua, and Rejane was a wonderful cook and homemaker. Rejane left this life on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in Madison, Indiana. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May her soul rest in eternal peace. Johnson Detmer Wyne of Madison, Indiana; her father-in-law, Dilver L. Detmer and his wife, Waraphon "Lambi" of Milton, Kentucky; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cheryl Lyon and her husband, Kyle Lyon of Madison, Indiana, Greg Wyne and his wife, Tracy Wyne of Hanover, Indiana, Angela Jackson and her husband, Ray Jackson of Hanover, Indiana; her nieces and her nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father-in-law Nick Wyne who died May 11, 2018. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 11:00 am, by Father Christopher A. Craig at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may visit Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. THE ROSARYThe Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
