Polly Clara Virginia Lee Robinson Stewart Obituary (1936

Let Us Pause To Honor the Memory of Mrs. Clara Virginia "Polly" Stewart Mrs. Clara Virginia "Polly" Robinson Stewart , age 84, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on June 19, 1936 in Madison, Indiana. She was the daughter of Charles Robinson and Virginia M. (Potter) Robinson. She was raised in Madison where she attended Madison Consolidated High School. Shortly before finishing school, Polly fell in love with Donald Stewart, and they were married on June 11, 1954. This union was blessed with one son, Donald Paul "DP" Stewart. Polly and her family saw a lot of the country through the years as they lived in San Diego, California, the Naval Station Great Lakes, Alexandria, Virginia, where Donald worked for the Pentagon for 30 years, and finally retired in Sarasota, Florida. Donald retired from the Navy on July 1, 1966 and later after Donald passed away, Polly moved back to Madison where she lived on Mouser St. for a time before moving to the Jewell Place for assisted care during the last four years of her life. Polly enjoyed crafting early in her life and was fascinated with tracing her family tree on both the Robinson and Potter sides of the family. She was a homemaker most of her life as she raised her son, but she also worked for a time with Sherwood Hall Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and Little Hunting Park. In her golden years, she loved watching old westerns while satisfying her sweet tooth with rootbeer barrels, collecting angel and bird figurines, solving crossword puzzles, and playing video games on the computer. Polly died on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at 6:35 p.m. at the Jewel Place in Madison, Indiana. Please Click Here to View the Funeral Service Recording A LOVING FAMILY Polly will be missed by her loving great niece who helped care for her, Michelle "Shelley" White of Bedford, Kentucky; her sister, Rosie Ball of Hanover; her grandson, Christian Hunter of Bristol, Virginia; her sister-in-laws, Marilyn Robinson, Sandy Robinson; her brother-in-law, John Scheloy of Ponca City, Oklahoma; her nephews, Michael Stewart, Steve Tall of Louisville, Kentucky, Andy Nunan of Crawfordsville, Indiana, Jeff Nunan of Lafayette, Indiana, Chuck Nunan of Madison, Indiana, Robbie Robinson of Madison, Indiana, Jim Robinson of Owensville, Indiana, Chad Robinson of Lebanon, Ohio, John Scheloy, Fred Scheloy, Charlie Scheloy, Joey Scheloy, Jim Ball of Madison, Indiana, Glenn Ball; her nieces, Robin Peterson of Muncie, Indiana, Barb Tob of Florida, Melody Main of Owenton, Kentucky, Mindy Sue Jobe (Ben) of Owensville, Indiana, Jenny Putman of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Susan O'Neal of Lexington, Indiana, Barb Elliott (James) of Florida. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Robinson, her mother, Virginia M. Robinson, her husband, Donald Stewart, her son, Donald Paul "DP" Stewart, her brothers, Graham Robinson (Gloria), "Bum" Robinson, Nick Robinson, Jim Robinson, her sisters, Mary DeCar (Louis), Winifred Tull(Jack), Margaret Anne Nunan (Kenneth), and Anita "Twink" Scheloy; and her brother-in-law, Jim Ball. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at 1:00 pm, by Pastor Shane Brunner at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.
