Niles Scott Taber

Mr. Niles Scott Taber, age 77, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on March 23, 1948 in Coldwater, Michigan. He was the son of Donald and Donelda Zimmer Taber. He was raised in Litchfield, Michigan and graduated high school there in 1966. Niles worked for the Ford Motor Company in Milan, Michigan for 35 years as a journeyman. On August 7, 2007 Niles was united in marriage to his best friend and soul mate, Deborah Lynn Hammond Bowles. They enjoyed nearly 18 years of marriage together. With this marriage he gained two daughters, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Niles didn't believe in calling them his stepchildren, because to him they were still his children. Niles was a jack of all trades. There was nothing he couldn't fix. He loved building his model cars and model planes. He loved to fly his plane, and go snowmobiling with his son, Niles, Jr. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles as well. Niles loved his dogs and enjoyed rebuilding old cars. He had resided in Madison since 2008. Niles died on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 7:32 a.m. at his home near Madison, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY Niles will be missed by his loving wife of 18 years, Deborah Lynn Hammond Bowles Taber of Madison, Indiana; her daughters, Tina Spellings of Madison, Indiana, Tonya Bowles of Salem, Indiana; his sons, Niles Taber, Jr. and his wife, Chris of Onsted, Michigan, Scott Taber of Reading, Michigan; his daughter, Angel Love of Reading, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his brother, Gary Taber and his wife, Debra of Pulaski, Tennessee; his sisters, Carol Sprague and her husband, Dennis of Jackson, Michigan, Rhonda Poore and her husband, Hank of Pulaski, Tennessee; 7 nieces and 10 nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Taber and his mother, Donelda Zimmer Taber Parks, his brothers, Donald Taber, II and Billy Parks, Jr.
