Neva Tucker Rowlett

Mrs. Neva Tucker Rowlett, age 95, of Hanover, Indiana, entered this life on November 6, 1916 in Madison, Indiana on First Street. She was the loving daughter of the late Halbert Carl & Maggie Mae Berry Tucker. She was a 1935 graduate of Hanover High School and attended Bible college in Pineville, Kentucky. She was united in marriage to Wilson Paul Rowlett on August 14, 1937 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. This happy union was blessed with one son, Jerry Wayne Rowlett. Neva worked for several years at Murphy's Five & Dime Store as a sales clerk. She later worked as a nursing assistant in the maternity ward at King's Daughters' Hospital. She later volunteered at the Hanover Nursing Center, The Water's of Clifty Falls and Hickory Creek of Madison. She had enjoyed living her entire life in Jefferson County. Neva & Wilson were members of Ryker's Ridge Baptist Church for as long as they lived near there. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and had taught Sunday school there for several years. She also enjoyed attending North Madison Christian Church and volunteering with R.S.V.P. for many years. Neva loved to play music at area nursing homes for many years. She was a devoted aunt to her family. Neva died Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 10:35 a.m. at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Neva will be missed by her loving nieces: Brenda Estes of Hanover, Indiana, Susan Horton & her husband, Charles of Madison, Indiana, Toni Adkins & her husband, Johnnie of Hanover, Indiana, Kathy Cooper & her husband, Larry of Madison, Indiana; her loving nephew: Ronald Anderson & his wife, Lucy of Hanover, Indiana; several great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Halbert Carl & Maggie Mae Berry Tucker; her husband, Wilson Paul Rowlett died in July 28, 1979; her son, Jerry Wayne Rowlett died on November 16, 1945; her brothers, Cecil & Clifford Tucker; her sister, Fern Moreland; her nephew Glen Gary Tucker. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., by Pastor Jeffrey Pflug at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Springdale Cemetery in downtown Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Saturday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to the Springdale Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund. Cards are available at the funeral home.
