Nelrose L. Scott Armstrong Mefford

Mrs. Nelrose L. Scott Armstrong-Mefford, age 78, of Madison, Indiana,entered this life on December 31, 1928, in Sanders, Kentucky, the daughter of Howard S. & Ruby Bales Scott, both of whom preceded her in death. She was raised in Carroll County, moving to Switzerland County in 1945, later moving to Brooksburg. She was first united in marriage to Martin T. Armstrong on December 28, 1946, in Carroll County, Kentucky, to this union arrived two daughters to bless their home. Nelrose and Martin enjoyed thirty six years of marriage until his death on October 6, 1982. She worked for nine years as a top stitcher for the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Vevay. She then began a career as an attendent at the Madison State Hospital, retiring after 21 years of service. She was united in marriage on October 13, 1992, in Carrollton, Kentucky to Thomas O. Mefford. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, her flowers, cooking and watching the butterflys. She was a member of the Brooksburg Baptist Church. Nelrose died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 9:25 am at her residence in Madison, Indiana.

Mefford of Madison, Indiana; her daughter: Rosie Adams & her husband: Ed of Brooksburg, Indiana; her step son: Gary Mefford & his wife: May of Providence, Kentucky; her sisters: Nancy Danger of Garner, Iowa; Mary Seel of Madison, Indiana; Judy Zearing of Madison, Indiana; Ruby Manuel of Madison, Indiana; Eva McKinley of Hanover, Indiana; her grandchildren: Robert Bryan Adams & his wife: LaVerne; Ronald Skirvin & his companion: Linda; & Martina Skirvin, her great grandchildren: Ashdyn Adams & Dakota Adams, several step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents: Howard S. & Ruby Bales Scott; first husband: Martin T. Armstrong died: Oct. 6, 1982; her daughter: Patricia A. "Patty" Skirvin died: Sept. 7, 2005; her son in law: Ira L. Skirvin died: May 10, 2003; her sisters: Sarah Virginia Scott, Eunice Sharon, Jennie King-Ford, & Dora E. Lewis; her brothers: Martin & Robert Scott; her step sons: Norman Joe, Dennis Ray & David Mefford.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 3, 2007 at 1:00 pm, by the Rev. Howard Wade at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Brooksburg Cemetery in Brooksburg, Indiana.

VISITATION
Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brooksburg Cemetery or Hospice of King's Daughters' Hospital. Cards are available at the funeral home.
