Nelle Margaret Knox Nay

Mrs. Nelle Margaret Knox Nay, age 87, of Madison, entered this life on May 25, 1922, in Trimble County, Kentucky, the daughter of Robert B. & Nannie B. Shelton Knox, both of whom preceded her in death. She resided her early life in Trimble County, moving to Deputy at the age of 14. She was a 1938 graduate of Deputy High School. She was united in marriage on October 12, 1940 to Emra Warren "Emery" Nay and to this union arrived two daughter and four sons to bless their home. She resided in Deputy and Madison most of her life, moving to Woodward in 2005 to be with her son and daughter. She had worked at the Paris Style Dress Shoppe in Madison and for the Inglis Drug Store. She was a member of the Dorcas Circle of King's Daughters; senior regent for the Madison Moose Lodge #765; past treasurer for the Madison VFW Post 1969 Auxiliary. Nelle died Monday, June 15, 2009 at 8:15 am at the home of her daughter and son in Woodward, Oklahoma. A LOVING FAMILY Nelle will be missed by her loving daughters: Linda Adams of Woodward, Oklahoma, Cathy Melton & her husband: Sam of Madison, Indiana; her loving sons: Douglas Nay & his wife: Merryl of Naples, Florida, Ronald Nay of India, Mike Nay of Woodward, Oklahoma; her daughter in law: Julia Willoughby of Madison, Indiana; her grandchildren: Derek, Alyshia, Julie, Lyle, Isaac, Seth, Dodie, Eric, Adam, Liz, Chrystie & Payson; her great grandchildren: Sam, Heidi, Bryce, Alora, Alex, Chelsey, Anna, Callie, Olivia, Nick, Kim, Alex, Matthew, Tommy, Jackson, Adam, & Tanner; her great great grandchildren: Linnea & Gayle; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert B. & Nannie B. Shelton Knox; her former husband: Emra Warren Nay died in 1979; her son: Stephen W. Nay died Sept. 22, 2002; her granddaughter: Sydney Emery Koch Nay died: April 24, 1992; her sisters: Mable Raker, Florence Hertz, Dorothy Winters; Lucy Knox & Ethel Renschler; her brothers: Raymond Knox, Chester Knox, & Robert L. Knox; her sister in law: Mary Knox died June 19, 2009. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11:00 am, by the Rev. Howard V. Bell at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. VISITATION Friends may call Friday from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. DORCAS CIRCLE The Dorcas Circle of King's Daughters' will conduct a memorial service on Friday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to Dorcas Circle of King's Daughters' or Moffett Cemetery Association. Cards are available at the funeral home.
