Nell Gaye "Brownie" Klopp Rippe Obituary (1935

Mrs. Nell "Brownie" Gaye Klopp Rippe, age 89 Years, of Greensboro, Georgia, formerly of Madison entered this life on February 20, 1935 in Petersburg in Boone County, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late Ruthford Elias and Thelma Lyon Klopp. She was raised in Madison, Indiana and graduated from Madison High School in 1953. Brownie was raised in the First Christian Church in downtown Madison. On June 23, 1960 she was united in marriage to Siegfried "Sig" W. Rippe in Covington, Kentucky. This happy union of 42 years was blessed with a son, John and with this union Brownie gained a step-daughter, Debra. The family resided in Alabama, Michigan, Connecticut, Illinois, Florida, Georgia , and Indiana. Brownie was employed as an administrative assistant early in life. Brownie was a devoted wife, loving mom, grandmother and sister. She loved caring for her family and her home. Brownie enjoyed shopping with her sisters. She was blessed with a unique ability to make everyone who knew her feel special, important and loved. Following retirement Sig and Brownie moved to Palm Harbor, Florida and resided there for ten years. They then moved to Alpharetta, Georgia and were members of the First United Methodist Church. Sig passed away on September 23, 2002 at home in Alpharetta and Brownie would later move back to Madison to be near her sisters and brothers. When her health began to fail she moved back to Georgia to be with her son. Brownie passed away peacefully at her son's and daughter-in-law's home on Thursday, February 29, 2024 in Greensboro, Georgia. Rippe and his wife, Karyn of Greensboro, Georgia; her loving step daughter, Debra Rippe-Troxell and her husband, Roy; her grandchildren, Megan, Todd and Tracy; her step- grandchildren, Corey and Jake; her great-grandchildren, Tryden, Abby, Braxton and Ryker; her loving sisters, Kathleen Klopp Chambers of Madison, Indiana, Elyse "Weesie" Klopp Detmer and her husband, Wayne of Madison, Indiana; her brother in law, Shafe Boles of Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Ruthford Elias Klopp, died August 18, 1979, her mother, Thelma Lyon Klopp, died February 17, 1979, her husband of 42 years, Siegfried W. Rippe, died September 23, 2002, her brothers and her sisters, Helen "Muffett" Klopp Lindsay, died January 31, 2015, Edward E. "Bee" Klopp, died January 10, 2006, Jean Hope Klopp Henry, died April 26, 2007, Frank L. "Dicky" Klopp, died January 31, 2014, Virginia "Gina" Klopp Bersch, died March 27, 1992, Mary Faith "Fadie" Klopp Seaver, died January 3, 2011, David C. "Deken" Klopp, died March 19, 2012, and Carolyn Ann "Judy" Klopp Boles, died November 20, 2023. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., by Pastor Randy Crutchfield at the First Baptist Church, 416 Vine Street in downtown Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, 9306 North U.S. Highway 421 near Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may visit on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the First Baptist Church, 416 Vine Street in downtown Madison, Indiana.
