Let Us Pause To Honor the Memory of Mr. James Michael "Mike" Kinman Mr. James Michael "Mike" Kinman, age 61, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on January 17, 1956 in Madison, Indiana. He was the son of the late James Bryan Kinman and Drucilla Maxine Fresh Kinman Thompson. Raised in Madison, Mike graduated from Madison Consolidated High School in 1974. He was proud to have been present with his brother Tim when the Madison Cubs captured the 3-A baseball title in Indianapolis. Early in life, he faithfully attended the Lide White Boys Club where he played on the Small Stars basketball team and enjoyed trips with Mr. John and Mrs. Sue Paul, then directors of the club. He was runner up for Boy of the Year. He first attended Vincennes University and later Ivy Tech Community College where he received an associate degree. He was united in marriage on June 17, 2000 to Jin Yang in Korea. He was employed as a CNC maintenance man with Dayton Walther/Varity/Arvin Meritor in Carrollton for 28 years. Mike loved going to Crystal Beach in his youth as well as faithfully attending every Madison Regatta. He was an avid fan of IU basketball, plus enjoyed gardening and watching old westerns. His annual campout, "Massive Consumption," was an enjoyable time had by all. Mike was a member of the United Auto Workers Union No. 1813. Mike died on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at his home in Madison, Indiana. Thompson and his companion, Serena Sturgeon of Madison, Indiana; his nieces and nephew, Gina B. Thompson (Ian Smith), Andrea L. Thompson (Benjamin Hunter), Logan A. Thompson; his great niece and great nephew, Katherine Smith and Oscar Hunter; his aunt, Lucille Boldery; his step mother, Joanne Kinman of Carrollton, Kentucky; his sister in law, Jin Mung of Tennessee; his life-long friend who was like his brother, Allen "Hoot" O'Neal of Madison, Indiana; numerous other friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, James Bryan Kinman, his mother, Drucilla Maxine Fresh Kinman Thompson, died February 16, 1999, and his step sister, Earlene Bickers. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 23, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., by Jeff Kinman at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Springdale Cemetery, 600 West Fifth Street in downtown Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may visit Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
