Hanover ChapelLet Us Pause To Honor the Memory of Mrs. Merrilee A. Ferris Phillips-O'Neil Mrs. Merrilee A. Ferris Phillips-O'Neil, age 77, of Hanover, Indiana entered this life on October 6, l943 in Dupont, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late John D. Ferris and Nonace May "Dora" Patrick. She was a graduate of Southwestern High School. She had worked at Frisch's, Burger King in Madison and Randall-Textron in Vevay, Indiana. While living in Virginia Beach, she worked at Wal-Mart. Merrilee enjoyed watching NASCAR, traveling, camping, following University of Kentucky basketball, fishing and dancing at the Moose Lodge in Madison. Merrilee died on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at 8:30 a.m. at her home in Hanover, Indiana. Phillips of Hanover, Indiana; her loving daughter, Cathy Whitaker and her husband Danny of Lexington, Indiana; her grandsons, Bradley Phillips of Hanover, Indiana, Christopher Whitaker and his wife Katrina of Lexington, Indiana; his great granddaughter, Isabella Rose Phillips of Madison, Indiana; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her son, Daryle Phillips, died December 14, 2009, her daughter in law, Kimberly Jo Anderson Phillips, died January 7, 2003, her granddaughter, Brooklynn Phillips, died July 24, 2020, her grandson, Daniel Whitaker, died May 1, 2014, her father, John D. Ferris, died June 10, 1969 and her mother, Nonace May "Dora" Patrick, died August 20, 1981. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at 4:30 p.m., by Ryan Payne and Katrina Whitaker at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre - Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street in Hanover, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Paynesville, Indiana VISITATION Friends may visit Tuesday from 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre - Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street in Hanover, Indiana.
