Melvin Lee Green

Mr. Melvin Lee Green, age 72, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Madison, entered this life on February 7, 1937, in Jefferson County, Indiana the son of Paul & Ethel Lauderbaugh Green, both of whom preceded him in death. He was raised in Madison and attended Central High School. He was employed with Reliance Electric in Madison from 1961-1998 and had worked as an electrician. He also drove for Pepsi Cola for several years and worked with Gerald Flint as an electrician. He was a member of the Ryker's Ridge Baptist Church. He loved cars, especially old Mustangs, Yamaha Motorcycles, fishing, hunting, & woodworking. He resided in Indianapolis since 1997. Melvin died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 7:55 a.m. at the home of his daughter in Madison, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Melvin will be missed by his loving daughters: Patty Mahoney & her husband: Steve of Madison, Indiana, Vickie S. Pope of Ashville, North Carolina, Cindy McCarthy & her husband: Patrick of Cincinnati, Ohio; his loving son: Bobby Green & his wife: Alicia of Bradenton, Florida; his loving brothers: Bill Green & his wife: Joanie of Whiteland, Indiana, Jim Green & his wife: Inza of Cocoa, Florida, Donnie Green & his wife: Wanda of Madison, Indiana; his loving sister: Patty Parker & her husband: Clarence "C.P." of Madison, Indiana; his uncle: Jim Lauderbaugh of Anderson, Indiana; his grandchildren: Ryan, Kristen, Kelly, Mason, Jason, Annessa, Jessica, Heather & Jackie; his three great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews & other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father: Paul Green died Aug. 31, 1996; his mother: Ethel Lauderbaugh Green died Feb. 2, 1998; his brother: Marvin Green died: July 8, 2008. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., by Dennis Helke and Rodney Nay at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Ryker's Ridge New Cemetery on Ryker's Ridge near Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from Noon until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association or Hospice of King's Daughters' Hospital.
