Martha Ann Mcdonley Cole

Mrs. Martha Ann McDonley Cole, age 77, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on February 13, 1935 in Ripley County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late, Orville and Ruth Ryce McDonley. Martha resided most all of her life in Jefferson County and was a graduate of Hanover High School. She was first united in marriage to James H. Higgins in 1959 and this union was blessed with a daughter and two sons. Martha was employed with the Madison Bank & Trust Company in the Insurance Department for over thirty years. She retired from the Madison Insurance Agency with agent Tom Davee. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Hanover Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 525. Martha was later united in marriage to William D. Cole. She enjoyed sewing, baking, craft shows and her dog, Sweet Pea. Martha was a devoted mother and grandmother. Martha died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 2:26 a.m. at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Martha will be missed by her loving daughter: Jennie Keller and her husband, William of Madison, Indiana; her loving son: Donald Higgins of Madison, Indiana; her loving sister: Sue Stodgill and her husband, Arley of Lexington, Indiana; her loving brother: Robert McDonley and his wife, Jean of Columbus, Indiana; her loving grandchildren: Melissa Gohl, Josh Keller and Sarah Beavers; her loving great grandchildren: Taylor, Colin, Hailey, Cassie, Brogan, Keegan, Adrian & Audrey; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Ruth Ryce McDonley; her husbands, James H. Higgins and William D. Cole; her son, James A. Higgins; her daughter in law, Louise Higgins. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 6:00 p.m., by the Rev. Ron Lee at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Entombment will be private in the Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to the Martha Cole Memorial Fund. Cards are available at the funeral home.
