Mrs. Marketta Rae Abbott Nasby, age 29, of Hanover, Indiana, entered this life on November 14, 1993 in Madison, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of Brian Copeland and Wendy Abbott. She was raised in the Chelsea area and graduated from Southwestern High School in 2012. Marketta first worked for Hinkle's in downtown Madison for several years and continued to off and on for 15 years. She had last worked for Hickory Recovery as a Peer Recovery Counselor for several years. She was currently working on her bachelors degree in psychology at Indiana Wesleyan University. On January 2, 2019, Marketta was united in marriage to Riley James Nasby in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This happy union of 4 years was blessed with three children, Caraline, Madaline, and Raymond. She was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church. Marketta enjoyed doing arts and crafts, gardening, growing herbs, and collecting crystals. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children. She was devoted wife and loving mommy. Marketta died on Monday, October 9, 2023, at 9:17 p.m. at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Please Click Here to View the Video Tribute Please Click Here to View the Funeral Service Recording A LOVING FAMILY Marketta will be missed by her loving husband of four years, Riley Nasby of Hanover, Indiana; her daughters, Caraline Nasby and Madaline Nasby; her son, Raymond Nasby; her mother, Wendy Abbott of Chelsea, Indiana; her brothers, Jeremy Copeland of Kent, Indiana, Corey Copeland of Kent, Indiana, and Dillon Youngblood of Madison, Indiana; her sister, Savannah Youngblood of Covington, Kentucky; her aunts and uncles, JR Abbott and his wife Jessica of Deputy, Indiana, Anthony Abbott of New Washington, Indiana, Kris, Kevin, Kenny, and Agnes; her grandmother, Linda Abbott of Chelsea, Indiana; her grandfather, Arnold Hyatt of Madison, Indiana; her mother in law, Beth Brandenburg of Chelsea, Indiana; her father in law, Ray Nasby of Scottsburg, Indiana; her brother in law, Colsen Brandenburg of Chelsea, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Brian Copeland, died October 16, 2021; her grandpa, Michael Abbott, Sr., died April 29, 2023, her grandma, Carolyn Conrad, died July 12, 2008, her great grandparents, Mark Abbott, Sr., died December 24, 1989 and Bertha Abbott, died May 4, 2001. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., by Pastor Scott Kollmann at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery in New Washington, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.
