Marjorie R. "Margie" Little Covington

Let Us Pause To Honor the Memory of Mrs. Marjorie "Margie" R. Little Covington Mrs. Marjorie "Margie" R. Little Covington, age 86, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on June 25, 1928 on Ryker's Ridge in Jefferson County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late, Herbert and Leona Ryker Little. She was a 1946 graduate of Central High School and a member of the Ryker's Ridge Baptist Church. Margie was united in marriage on January 10, 1955 to Marvin Gerald Covington, Sr. This marriage raised three daughters and a son. Margie resided in Switzerland County and was a member of the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church for twenty years. She was also employed with the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Vevay for twenty years. Margie and Marvin farmed near Mt. Sterling on Poston Road for twenty years. After she moved to Madison she began working at the Madison Nursing Home now known as Hickory Creek and had worked as an assistant for her sister Mary Lou Heitz who was the County Recorder at the Jefferson County Courthouse. Margie was a member of the Bennington Chapter of the Rebekah Lodge and the Central High School Alumni. She enjoyed reading, genealogy, her Ryker family heritage and reunions and watching IU Basketball. Marjorie died on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. at the Hickory Creek of Madison in Madison, Indiana. Click Here for Funeral Service or Tribute Video A LOVING FAMILY Marjorie will be missed by her loving daughters, Rebecca Ann Jenkins McGlinchey and her husband, Ron of Lucedale, Mississippi, Peggy Lee Jenkins Hammons of Madison, Indiana, Mary Charlene Covington Johnson and her husband, Steve of Vevay, Indiana; her son, Marvin Gerald Covington, Jr. of Hanover, Indiana; her sister, Mary Lou Heitz of Port Charlotte, Florida; her brother, William "Bill" Little and his wife, Shirley of Madison, Indiana; her grandchildren, Laura, Elizabeth, Mark, Matthew, Tyler, Stephanie and Brian; her great grandchildren, Brooke, Summer, Paxton, Adrina, Blake, DaShawn, Trace, Natasha and Jennifer; her five great great grandchildren, Sophie, Skyler, Vanessa, Destiny and Connor; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Leona Ryker Little; her ex-husband, Marvin Gerald Covington, Sr. died, May 31, 1987; her sister, Anna Ellis; and her great grandson, Shawn Michael Hoffman. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 13, 2015, at 1:30 p.m., by Pastor Ron Lee at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Brooksburg Cemetery in Brooksburg, Indiana VISITATION Friends may call Monday from 12:00 Noon - 1:30 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
