Marilyn Adams

Mrs. Marilyn V. Adams, age 92, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on Tuesday, March 7, 1922 in Madison, Indiana, the daughter of the late Clare and Alene Danner Vaughn. A 1939 graduate of the old Central High School, she attended Saint Mary's Business College. She was united in marriage to William T. Adams on September 17, 1940 in Madison, Indiana and to this union came a son and a daughter to bless their home. Mrs. Adams and her husband established their insurance business, Adams Insurance, in 1952 where she worked in all aspects of the business including, being a licensed insurance agent until their retirement in 1987. She was a former member of the old Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, church pianist and church treasurer. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church in downtown Madison, Indiana where she worshiped as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Adams was talented in the art of cross-stitching, making her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren personal gifts on special occasions. She enjoyed traveling with her husband on annual trips to Williamsburg, Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge and other places, collecting spoons and plates wherever they would go. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and had a natural skill for gardening and growing flowers that she loved. A member of the Jefferson County Historical Society, she served many years as a docent at the Depot Museum and the merited the "Volunteer of the Year" Award in 2005. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Adams died on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 4:40 AM at the Jewel House in Madison, Indiana. Click Here for Funeral Service A LOVING FAMILY Mrs. Adams will be missed by her loving daughter, Karen Ginn and her husband, Darrell of Madison, Indiana; her loving granddaughter, Susanne Konkle and her husband, Loren of Madison, Indiana; her loving grandson, Darin Ginn and his wife, Stephanie of Madison, Indiana; her loving great grandchildren, Logan Konkle, Lily Konkle, Makenzie Ginn, Madison Ginn and Mitchell Ginn; her loving sister, Velma Williams of Louisville, Kentucky; one niece and two nephews and several other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clare and Alene Danner Vaughn, her beloved son, William Ronald "Ronnie" Adams died August 5, 1966, her beloved husband, William T. Adams died February 12, 1996. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 1:30 pm, by Brother Bob Hicks at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. VISITATION Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 12:30 PM until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Association. Cards are available at the funeral home.
