Marie Smith

Ms. Marie Smith, age 68, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on December 26, 1943 in Madison, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late, Fred & Thelma L. Singer Smith. She resided all of her life in Madison and was a 1963 graduate of Madison High School. she was employed with Perry & Dunbar Drug Store in downtown Madison from 1964-1972. Marie then began working in Housekeeping at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison from 1975-1986 she then went to work for the Madison State Hospital until she retired in 1996 as an attendant. She worked part time after retirement for Hanover College. Marie was an avid bowler and was a member of the Jefferson County Bowler's Association. Marie died Friday, June 8, 2012 at 12:25 p.m. at The Water's of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Marie will be missed by her loving daughter: Gena Lyon & her husband, Chad of Milan, Indiana; her loving grandchildren: Jacqueline Rose Cole & Michael Wayne Cole; her loving brothers: Harold Smith & his wife, Diane of Madison, Indiana, Donnie Smith & his wife, Jody of Edinburgh, Indiana, Bobby Smith & his wife, Vanessa of Oxon Hill, Maryland; her loving sisters: Shirley Jackson of Hanover, Indiana, Jeanie Stivers & her husband, John of Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fed & Thelma L. Singer Smith; her brothers, James Leroy "Sarge" Smith and Charles Dawson "Chuck" Smith; her sister, Martha Conover. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., by the Rev. Michael Cammack at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to the Marie Smith Memorial Fund. Cards are available at the funeral home.
