Malcolm Reid "Mike" Bragg (Ret. U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt.) Obituary (1941

Mr. Malcolm "Mike" Reid Bragg (Ret. U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt), age 83 of Bradenton, Florida and Thomasville, North Carolina, entered this life on December 28, 1941 in Pewee Valley, Kentucky. He was the loving son of the late Buron Mortimon and Verna Wilda Loveless Bragg. He was raised in Louisville, Kentucky and was schooled there. He earned an associate degree from Indiana Academy in Cicero, Indiana in 1960. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 22, 1963 in Columbus, Indiana. He served his country during the Vietnam War and in Korea. He earned the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 5 devices, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon with 1 device, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon with 3 devices, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 2 devices, Combat Crem Badge, and many Management and Material Facilities courses. He retired honorably on October 31, 1983. He was united in marriage to Consuelo Ray Burnette on September 22, 1965 by the Justice of the Peace in Madison, Indiana. This happy union of 55 years was blessed with three daughters, Tanya Sue, Mychell Denise, and Brenda Diane. He continued his career in civil service at the Warner Robins Air Force Base in Georgia as a warehouseman. They moved to Madison/Hanover, Indiana in 2005 and enjoyed wintering in Bradenton, Florida. He was baptized in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, was a member of the Madison Moose Lodge No. 765, and was an avid golfer. Mike and Connie moved to Thomasville, North Carolina in 2020 to be near their daughters. Mike died on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 3:30 a.m. at his winter home in Bradenton, Florida. Please Click Here to View the Video Tribute Please Click Here to View the Funeral Service Recording A LOVING FAMILY Mike will be missed by his loving daughters, Tanya Sue Hooker and her husband Kenny of Archdale, North Carolina, Mychell Denise Lang and her husband Patrick of Watkinsville, Georgia, Brenda "Diane" Puckett and her husband Tommy of Burlington, North Carolina; his loving grandchildren, Cassandra "Cassie" Malcom, Jessica Malcom, Troy Whittington, Spencer Ussery, Mallory "Brooke" Ussery, Jett Lang, Macey Lang, Brandon Puckett, and Alyssa Puckett; his great grandchildren, Adrian Walker, Trinity Walker, Caleb Smith, Hayleigh Smith, Desirae Malcom, Brooke Shue, Lillian Shue, Sage Ussery, Amryn Puckett and one on the way; his brother, Gary Roger Bragg and his wife Karen of Alexander, Indiana; his brother in law, Bill Mann of Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Buron Mortimon Bragg died in 1961, his mother, Verna Wilda Loveless Bragg died in 2016, his sister, Wilda Bureen Mann, his beloved wife, Consuelo "Connie" Ray Burnette Bragg, died September 7, 2020. MEMORIAL CEREMONY A memorial ceremony is planned for Friday, May 9, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana. Scattering ceremony will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Drive in Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may gather Friday, May 9, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana. MILITARY HONORS A final salute with military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force Ceremonial Unit and the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
