M. Jean Schmidt Fergeson

Mrs. Mildred Jean Schmidt Fergeson, age 91, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on October 12, 1918, in Madison, Indiana. She was the daughter of Juluis Sr. & Della Mae "Mamie" Ferguson Schmidt. She resided all of her life in Madison and was united in marriage on June 26, 1937 in Vevay, Indiana to Arlie Fergeson. To this union arrived two daughters to bless their home. She was raised in the St. Michael Catholic Church in downtown Madison. She attended St. Michael School and Madison High School. She was employed with Chicken Villa for several years as a cook and retired from Hanover College as a cook. She enjoyed her family and going to yard sales. Jean was a very generous lady and enjoyed sharing with others. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Jean died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 8:13 p.m. at Hickory Creek of Madison in Madison, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Mrs. Fergeson will be missed by her loving daughters: Shirley Rogers & her husband: Robert "Bob" of Madison, Indiana and Sue Ann Davis & her husband: George of Ramsey, Indiana; her loving sisters: Dorothy Schirmer of Hanover, Indiana, Edna Perry of Madison, Indiana, Lillian Ward of Tell City, Indiana; her loving brother: Donald J. Schmidt of Madison, Indiana; her loving grandchildren: Robert B. Rogers, Patrick W. Rogers, Cathy Montgomery Moore, Rick Montgomery & Morgan Summers; her adoring great grandchildren: Courtney Rogers, Holly Rogers, Josh Goode, Cody Rogers, & Alex Moore; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents: Juluis Sr. & Della Mae "Mamie" Ferguson Schmidt; her husband: Arlie Fergeson died: Nov. 28, 1986; her brothers: Raymond Schmidt, Juluis Schmidt Jr. and James Schmidt; her sisters: Verna "Mickie" Ellis, Margaret Ellis & Virginia Barnaby. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., by the Rev. John A. Meyer at the Grandview Memorial Gardens Chapel, 9306 North U.S. Hwy 421 near Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Private visitation will be held for the family on Tuesday at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson County Animal Shelter or Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.
