Mrs. Luvana "Lou" Barrett Cornett, age 83 of Scottsburg, Indiana, entered this life on March 28, 1941 in Scottsburg, Indiana. The loving daughter of the late Oscar and Gracie Roberts Barrett, she was raised in Deputy. She married John Cornett on September 3, 1955 in Madison, Indiana. Two children, Diane and Greg, blessed this union of 54 years. She grew up in Scott County and aside from 12 years in Dekalb, Illinois lived in Scott County her entire life. She worked 10 years for General Electric in Dekalb and resided in Rochelle. She also spent 45 years creating floral arrangements at her shop "Lou's Flowers and Crafts". Luvana was of Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed working with flowers, being with family and woodworking. Luvana died on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 1:00 a.m. at her home. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Barrett, died April 8, 1986, her mother, Gracie Roberts Barrett, died November 20, 1987, her husband, John Cornett, died September 30, 2009, her brothers, Millard Barrett, died December 21, 1968, Willard Barrett, died November 13, 2008, Earnie L. Barrett, Sr., died November 20, 1998, Robert Barrett, died October 7, 2004 Walter Earl "Bud" Barrett, died September 1, 2017, Harold Barrett, Ledfert Barrett, her sisters, Patty Lou Johnson, died November 29, 2017, Helen Barrett, died January 25, 1942, Geneva Ward, died April 5, 1980. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., by Pastor Jeff Mullins at the Redemption Pentecostal Church, 33 Wilbur Avenue in Austin, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Spurgeon Cemetery in Austin, Indiana VISITATION Friends may visit Friday, November 22, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Redemption Pentecostal Church, 33 Wilbur Avenue in Austin, Indiana.
