Lurah Kay Stanley Stamper Obituary (1943

Lurah Kay Stanley Stamper, age 69, of Jasper, Indiana formerly of Madison entered this life on October 16, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late William L. and Ella Sutherland Stanley. She was a graduate of Oldham County High School and later attended Ivy Tech Community College in Madison to pursue a degree in Nursing. Lurah was a Nurse at the Madison State Hospital for 30 years before retiring. Lurah spent most of her life in the Madison community until a few years ago when she had moved to Florida and then relocated to Jasper, Indiana. She was a member of the Jasper Ladies Auxilliary, the Jasper VFW and the Moose in Jasper. Lurah died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:25 a.m. at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Lurah will be missed by her daughter: Kathy Gray and her companion: Joe Helton of Milton, Kentucky; her son: Kelly Russell Stamper and his wife: Sarah of Jasper, Indiana; her grandchildren: Cory Stamper and his wife: Lauren of Walton, Kentucky, Brandon Gray of Walton, Kentucky, Amber Lemond of Jasper, Indiana, Andrew Lemond and his wife: Michelle of Jasper, Indiana, Michelle Foster of Jasper, Indiana, Sean Lamond and his wife: Tiffany of Jasper, Indiana; eighteen great grandchildren; her brother: James Stanley and his wife: Sheila of Shepherdsville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wililam L. and Ella Sutherland Stanley; her brothers, William and Larry Stanley. GRAVESIDE CEREMONY Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at the Grandview Memorial Gardens Chapel, 9306 North US Highway 421 near Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. VISITATION Friends may call In keeping with Lurah's wishes there will be no public visitation.
