Let Us Pause To Honor the Memory of Mrs. Luerena "Rena" Persell Taylor Brown Mrs. Luerena "Rena" Persell Taylor Brown, age 92, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on July 29, 1927 in Trimble County near Bedford, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Ada Webster Persell. She was a graduate of Milton High School and was raised in Trimble County. She was first united in marriage to Barney Floyd Taylor in 1943. This union was blessed with a daughter, Peggy Jean. After his death, she was united in marriage to William Gayle Brown on March 6, 1970 by Judge Schnaitter in Madison. She held some office jobs but primarily enjoyed being a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith and had attended Calvary Wesleyan Church and Milton Wesleyan Church. Rena loved antiques, refinishing antiques, gardening, flowers, and caring for her home and lawn. Rena died on Monday, July 6, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Water's of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana. Please Click Here to View the Funeral Service Recording A LOVING FAMILY Rena will be missed by her step son, Stephen Brown and his wife, Beverly of Hanover, Indiana; 2 step grandchildren, Ethan Brown and Lydia Ault (Bryan); 1-step great granddaughter, Adlely Kaye; her sisters in law, Sally Brown of Madison, Indiana, JoAnn Brown of Madison, Indiana; her brother in law, Robert Brown of Milton, Kentucky; her care-giver and friend, Phil Wright of Madison, Indiana; her nieces, Carolyn Sue Brittain and Linda Rowland and her husband, Herman; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Persell, died January 20, 1946, her mother, Ada Webster Persell, died December 13, 1973, her daughter, Peggy Jean Taylor Andress, died, December 15, 2017; her first husband, Barney Floyd Taylor, died Aguust 15, 1967, her second husband, William "Bill" Gayle Brown, died November 8, 2016, her sister, Sally Elizabeth Persell Stockdale, died May 25, 2010, her brothers, Stanton and James David Persell. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 16, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., by Rev. Monty L. Mahoney at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery,1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may visit Thursday from 12:00 Noon - 1:00 p.m. at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.
