Lloyd F. Jones

Mr. Lloyd Jones, age 84, of Louisville, Kentucky formerly of Madison entered this life on January 25, 1929 in Trimble County, Kentucky. He was the loving son of the late, Jack Edward Jones and Nell Wright Jones Lee. Lloyd resided his early life in Frankfort, Kentucky and attended school there and helped his family with the farm. He was united in marriage to Ruth L. Carr on July 7, 1956 in Frankfort, Kentucky. Lloyd and Ruth celebrated over 52 years of marriage together until her death on Feb. 17, 2008. Lloyd worked for Marcus Furniture in Frankfort and then for Bensinger's Furniture. He moved to Madison in July 1954 and soon opened the Fabrique Shop and Carpet Center in downtown Madison. Lloyd was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in downtown Madison and was ordained a deacon on Sept. 21, 2003. Lloyd was a meticulous man and was always complimented on his distinct speaking voice.He enjoyed reading the scriptures at the First Baptist Church during the Sunday worship services. Lloyd and Ruth enjoyed their many loyal customers and loved to decorate their homes retiring on December 31, 1995 after 35 years in the fabric and carpet business.He and Ruth also enjoyed decorating the homes they owned with antiques they collected through the years. Lloyd died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 1:47 p.m. at the Signature Health Care East in Louisville, Kentucky. A LOVING FAMILY Lloyd will be missed by his loving daughters: Penny Wilkins of Louisville, Kentucky; Sharon Koontz and her husband, Andy and Cathy Marlette and her husband, Ted of Frankfort, Kentucky; her grandchildren: Erin Gordon and her husband, Rusty, Nicole McCoy and her husband, Matt; Andrea Koontz; Tyler and Cameron Vance; his great grandchild: Madison McCoy; his sister: Sally Lee of Frankfort, Kentucky; his brothers: Willett Lee and his wife, Janet of Sellersburg, Indiana, Clella Lee, Jr. and his wife, Lynne of Frankfort, Kentucky; his brother in law and sisters in law: Lewis Carr and his wife, Marie of Greensboro, North Carolina, Marjorie Peyton of Frankfort, Kentucky, Ann Zimmerman of Frankfort, Kentucky, Edith Carr of Frankfort, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Edward Jones; his mother, Nell Wright Jones Lee; his step father, Clella Lee, Sr.; his beloved wife, Ruth L. Carr Jones died, February 17, 2008. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Lewis Wright at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Cards are available at the funeral home.
