Leon Robert Phillips

Mr. Leon Robert Phillips, age 55, of Dupont, Indiana entered this life on November 2, 1961 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Robert William and Margaret Evalyn Hall Phillips. Leon was a 1980 graduate of the Madison Consolidated High School. He resided and worked all his life in Dupont on the family farm and enjoyed the dairy cattle, raising hay, corn, soybeans and wheat. He was a faithful member of the Wirt Baptist Church and the Jefferson County Farm Bureau. During his leisure time, he liked attending the Madison Consolidated High School and Hanover College athletic games. Leon also enjoyed riding his bicycle around Jefferson County and taking walks along the Ohio riverfront. Leon was active in FFA and 4-H in his high school years. Leon was a hard working farmer who was very humble and kind. Leon died on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at 4:40 p.m. at his home in Dupont, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert William Phillips, died February 7, 1999; his mother, Margaret Evalyn Hall Phillips, died December 14, 1983; his grandparents, John & Golda Lowe Phillips, Lester and Mary Lou "Edith" Hall.

FUNERAL CEREMONYFuneral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., by Pastor Troy Hedges at the Wirt Baptist Church near Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, Indiana

VISITATIONFriends may call Monday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana and Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at the Wirt Baptist Church near Madison, Indiana.
