Lee Roy "Doc" Young

Mr. Lee Roy "Doc" Young, age 81, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on Feb. 19, 1928 in Madison, Indiana, the son of Oscar & Florence Sweeney Young. He was united in marriage on April 6, 1955 in Madison to Elizabeth M. Buchanan. He was employed in construction early in life. He worked in sanitation for the City of Madison for several years. He worked as processor for Pearl Packing Company for several years and at Madison Precision as well. He retired after twenty five years as a custodian for King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He enjoyed fishing, wrestling, western movies, hunting, his animals, singing and playing the guitar. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Doc loved people and enjoyed all the people he met, he even adopted several kids to be a father figure to them. He had been a patient for the past fourteen years with the Water's of Clifty Falls where he was lovingly cared for until his death. Lee Roy died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 10:36 a.m. at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Mr. Young will be missed by his loving wife of fifty nine years: Elizabeth M. Buchanan Young of Madison, Indiana; his loving daughters: Janice Young Selph, Donna Young Mendoza & Debbie Young Mendoza all of Madison, Indiana; his loving son: Roger Young & his wife: Sandy of Madison, Indiana; his step daughter: Carol Young of Madison, Indiana; his sisters: Anna May Carpenter & her husband: Robert of Madison, Indiana, Rosemary Young Parks of Detroit, Michigan; his grandchildren: Stephanie Young, Roger Lee Young Jr., Cody Young, Tabatha Torrance, Jerry Shelton, Jr., Tanner Young, Paige Young, Cody Mendoza, Cory Mendoza; his great grandchildren: Alex Butters, Tyson Roberts, Jade Shelton, Stacie Shelton & Anna Shelton; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents: Oscar & Florence Sweeney Young. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10:30 a.m., by Pastor Bob Leach at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
