Kierstan Leanne McClain, age 32 of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on June 28, 1993 in Franklin, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of Allen McClain and Francie Streeval Niewedde. She was raised and schooled in Edinburgh, Indiana. She later attended certified nursing training. She was blessed with four children, Maylee, Kylee, Ainzlee, and Charles, Jr. from her partnership of 15 years with Chuck Whalen, Sr. She had worked as a clerk for Circle K in Madison and as a CNA with the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. She loved singing, dancing, listening to music, and being with family and friends. She loved taking care of others and would invite in any child or young person who needed a place to stay or hot meal. Kierstan died on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 12:11 p.m. at the Hosparus Inpatient Unit of Norton Pavilion in Louisville, Kentucky. Please Click Here to View the Video Tribute Please Click Here to View the Funeral Service Recording A LOVING FAMILY Kierstan will be missed by her life partner of 15 years, Charles "Chuck" Whalen, Sr. of Madison, Indiana; her daughters, Maylee Whalen of Madison, Indiana, Kylee Whalen of Madison, Indiana, Ainzlee Whalen of Madison, Indiana; her son, Charles "Nugget" Whalen, Jr. of Madison, Indiana; her father, Allen McClain of Columbus, Indiana; her sisters, Mahaley Leistner and her husband, Nathan of Rockport, Indiana, Krisinda Niewedde of Columbus, Indiana; her brothers, Keaton McClain of Seymour, Indiana, Donald Scott Niewedde of Franklin, Indiana; her special niece and nephews, Makyn Gibson, Savannah McRoberts, and Carson McRoberts; her sister-in-law, Samantha McRoberts and her husband, Corbin of Commiskey, Indiana; her father-in-law, Kenny Whalen of Madison, Indiana; her aunts, Teresa Randles, Billie Denson and her husband, Kevin, Angie Parker, Pam Lovins and her husband, Brian of Scottsburg, Indiana, Mary Angel of Edinburgh, and Jackie Burton all of Edinburgh, Indiana; her uncles, Michael Niewedde of Seymour, Indiana, and Charles Niewedde of Hayden, Indiana; her best friends who were like sisters, Amea Dean of Madison, Indiana, Sara Spencer of Evansville, Indiana; her brother in law, Tray Whalen of Madison, Indiana several cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother, Francie Streeval Niewedde, died December 27, 2008, her stepdad, Dave Niewedde, her grandma, Linda Orff, her cousin, Brandy McClain, and her mother-in-law, Melissa Whalen. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., By Pastor Jamie Hall at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
