Juanita Fay "Dutchie" Furnish Scholl Obituary (1927

Mrs. Juanita Fay "Dutchie" Furnish Scholl, age 93, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on October 6, 1927 in Switzerland County, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Charles Russell and Alma Faye Wakefield Furnish. Her mother died when she was almost 10 years old and her father married Essie Leola Jacobs Furnish and her step-mother finished raising her. She attended school in Vevay and was baptized at the Fredonia Baptist Church. Juanita was united in marriage to John Robert Scholl, Sr. on Feb. 23,1946 and they made their home in Jefferson County. They were blessed with daughters, Donna and Sherry and sons, John Robert, Jr., Michael Lawrence, and Patrick. She was a devoted wife, loving mom, grandma, great grandma and sister. She retired as an attendant from the Madison State Hospital after 43 and a half years of service. Juanita held membership in Vevay Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5396 Auxiliary, Vevay American Legion Post No. 185 Auxiliary, and the former Madison Eagles Club. She enjoyed being with her family, attending Bunco, playing cards, going to the casinos, traveling, dancing and socializing with friends. Juanita died on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 1:22 p.m. at the Bedford Springs in Bedford, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Russell Furnish, died August 5, 1966, her mother, Alma Faye Wakefield Furnish, died February 17, 1937, her step mother, Essie Leola "Dode" Jacobs Furnish, died September 27, 2002, her beloved husband, John Robert Scholl, Sr. died October 4, 1983, her daughter, Donna Miller, died August 8, 2017, her sons, John Robert Scholl, Jr. died April 3, 2012 and Michael Lawrence Scholl, died October 11, 2019, her grandson, John Robert "John Boy" Scholl, III, died March 5, 2002, her great granddaughter and great grandson, Lindsey Kathleen Sachleben, died February 6, 2017 and Derrick Robert "D.T." Turner, died February 3, 2009, her brothers, Charles Silas Furnish, died June 7, 1938, her unnamed infant brother, died January 18, 1940, Loren "Nick" Dale Furnish, died April 14, 1986, Wendell "Bill" Paul Furnish, died January 27, 2011, and Charles Wayne "C.W." Furnish, died November 15, 2016; her sisters, Myra Gail Furnish, died March 2, 1952 and died Lovena Mae Furnish Jacobs, died June 8, 2009 . FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., by Bro. Charles Butcher at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre,325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Kent Cemetery in Kent, Indiana.
