Juanita Virginia McCreary Lewis

Juanita Virginia McCreary Lewis, entered eternal rest on September 11, 2026 in Hanover, Indiana. She was born on January 3, 1931, at Marble Hill to the late William and Mayme Harris McCreary. Her 95 years spent in the Jefferson County area were marked by a love of travel, a passion for gardening, and a commitment to her work in the industrial sector. As a proud 1949 graduate of Saluda High School, Juanita dedicated most of her career to Joyce Shoe Factory and Duke Energy before retirement. As a retired factory worker, she found joy in the beauty of her flower garden and the thrill of exploring the world on group tours.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Ratcliff (Ron) of Bedford, Indiana; her son, Steve Lewis (Traci) of Richmond, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Eric, John and Elizabeth; her great-grandchildren, Jack, Kathryn, Amelia and Sophia; her sisters, Olive Reed of Minnesota and Mildred Davidson of Chelsea, Indiana; her brother Ronnie McCreary of Paynesville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mayme Harris McCreary; her daughter, Karen Lewis; her grandson, Kenny Jackson; her sister, Loraine Wolfe; her brother, Dennis McCreary.

A memorial visitation will take place on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street in Hanover, Indiana. A memorial service will take place on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the same venue. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Paynesville, Indiana.
