Mr. Jovonnie Antonio "Joe" Mayes, age 28, of Madison formerly of North Vernon, Indiana, entered this life on May 25, 1993 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was the son of Joel Mayes and Junara Lontenzas Bailey. He moved to North Vernon when he was five years old and attended Jennings County School System. In school he enjoyed playing basketball, football and ran track. He moved to Madison two years ago and had worked at McDonalds Restaurant and at Ponderosa. He was a loving son, brother, grandson and uncle. Jovonnie died on Saturday, September 4, 2021, in Madison, Indiana. Please Click Here to View the Video Tribute Please Click Here to View the Funeral Service Recording A LOVING FAMILY Jovonnie will be missed by his heartbroken mother, Junara Bailey of North Vernon, Indiana; his father, Joel Mayes of Louisville, Kentucky; his two children, Mavalik Kyson Boldery and Keeleigh Cummings; his sisters, Destiny Bailey of Madison, Indiana, Shaqwel Bailey of Madison, Indiana, Breaunna Mayes McAuliff and her husband, James of Madison, Indiana; his brother, Frank Bailey of North Vernon, Indiana; his nieces and his nephews, Kingston Bailey, Drakeston Bailey, Malenna Miller, Ashanti Bailey; his grandmothers, Belinda Wilson of Louisville, Kentucky; his grandfathers, Kenneth Wilson of Louisville, Kentucky; his uncles, Frederick Bailey of North Vernon, Indiana, Kenneth Wilson, Jr. of North Vernon, Indiana and Marlow Miller; his aunt, Anita Miller of North Vernon, Indiana; his cousins, Brittany Miller, Reggie Bailey, Maliki Blount, and Jadyn Shine; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joel and Patricia Mayes, Dolphine Bailey, and Charles Bailey. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 13, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
