Handmaid Mary Rose Bartsch "Rosie" Reed Obituary (1943

Mary Rose Reed, of China, Indiana, 80, died December 11, 2023. She was born May 1, 1943 in Wheeling, West Virginia. Mary Rose Reed gave of herself these last 23 years as a handmaid of the Good Shepherd for Shepherds of Christ Ministries. Rosie married Larry Reed and had two sons Kevin (Christina) and Doug (Sarah) and two grandchildren, Garret and Mattie. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Bartsch, died 1961, her mother, Elizabeth Trischler Bartsch, died 1984. She survived her sister, Betty Goormastic, also a handmaid of the Good Shepherd and her brother, Edmond Bartsch (Elizabeth). Rosie raised her family and loved them very much. Rosie gave her life the last 23 years being a handmaid of the Good Shepherd. She was indeed, a handmaid, she gave her life in Florida at Mary's image site (Clearwater) carrying for the pilgrims and praying and helping all to know Jesus' love. Then Rosie went to the Church here in China. This is her tribute, she labored mailing Fr. Joe Robinson's homily books to all the priests. Every mailing to this last mailing. Then she prayed before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament doing hours and hours and hours of adoration and prayer, Rosie loved the priests so much and loved and prayed and served them these last years in this Church in China. This is a gift to talk about Rosie and her selfless love for Jesus, souls and all of us. Betty her sister did prayer and love in this Church for 16 years. Thank God for Rosie and Betty and all of you too. Rosie showed us love. God is love and Rosie, now has gone home to Jesus.
