Let Us Pause To Honor the Memory of Mr. Glendis Michael "Mike" Vest Mr. Glendis Michael "Mike" Vest, age 65, of Dupont, Indiana entered this life on February 7, 1954, in Paris, Kentucky. He was the loving son of the late Lawrence M. and Vera Delores Fugate Vest. He resided in Milton, Kentucky in Cooper's Bottom for many years and was valedictorian of his graduating class. Mike was inducted into the United States Army in 1976 and rose to the rate of Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1982. He was united in marriage on December 25, 1974, in Milton, Kentucky to Teresa Lynn Anderson. This union was blessed with two sons, Michael and Steven, and a daughter, Jamie. He worked early in life for Ritter Lanes Bowling Alley and Madison Precision. He then worked for many years as a supervisor at Cummins Engine Company. He was baptized at the First Church of God in Madison. Mike held membership in the North Vernon Masonic Lodge and Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, bowling and participating in Native American gatherings. He was a devoted husband, loving dad, brother, papa and uncle. Mike had been in ill health since January and passed peacefully away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 4:31 a.m. at Baptist Health-Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. Click Here for Tribute Video A LOVING FAMILY Michael will be missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Teresa Lynn Anderson Vest of Dupont, Indiana; his loving sons, Michael Anderson and his wife, Stacy of North Vernon, Indiana, Steven Vest and his wife, Shannon of Madison, Indiana; his loving daughter, Jamie Logsdon and her husband, James of Hanover, Indiana; his grandchildren, Shannon Anderson, Jared Vest, Gabrielle Vest, Christifer Lanham, Samantha Lanham, and Sheridan Lanham; his step grandchildren, Brandon Hart, Michael Scroggin, Rylee Hallgarth, and Collin Logsdon; his great grandchildren, Steven Anderson and Jackson Lanham; his loving sisters, Teresa Ann Vest of Milton, Kentucky, Lillian Albert and her companion, Keith Burkhardt of Milton, Kentucky, Velvet Durbin and her husband, Tony of Sellersburg, Indiana; his loving brothers, Timothy Vest and his wife Dee of Madison, Indiana, Wendell Vest and his companion, Nina Lapine of Milton, Kentucky, Woody Vest of Milton, Kentucky, Rocky Vest and his wife, Angela of Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence M. Vest, died November 10, 1988, his mother, Vera Delores Fugate Vest, died July 22, 1995, his brother, Charles Wilbur Vest, died July 25, 1994, and his brother in law, Mike Albert, died December 18, 2015. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., by Pastor Scott Kollmann at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. VISITATION Friends may visit Wednesday from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. MILITARY HONORS A final salute will be conducted on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre with full military honors to follow at the Moffett Cemetery by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
