Gerald Raymond "Gerry" Hobbs, Jr. Obituary (1949

Mr. Gerald Raymond "Gerry" Hobbs, Jr., age 76, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on March 7, 1949, in Shelbyville, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Dr. Gerald R. Sr., and Betty June Engle Hobbs. He resided in Jefferson County most of his life and was a graduate of Southwestern High School Class of 1968. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana for several years. Gerry was inducted into the United States Army, serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged and returned home. He was a member of the Hanover Baptist Church and had been attending the River Valley Community Church in Madison. He had worked in maintenance at Indiana Kentucky Electric Corporation for several years and most recently worked for a cleaning company in downtown Madison. He enjoyed painting and loved music. Gerald died on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his residence in Madison, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Gerald will be missed by his brothers, James Hobbs of Madison, Indiana, Thomas Hobbs of Harvard, Illinois; his sister, Lisa Hightower of DeLand, Florida; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Gerald R. Hobbs, Sr., died July 12, 1994, his mother, Betty June Engle Hobbs, died July 31, 2002, his stepmother, Lela Golden Angel Rose Hobbs, died January 24, 2018, and his brother, Daniel Hobbs, died January 10, 2014.
