Fredia Laverne Browning Smith

Mrs. Fredia Laverne Browning Smith, age 86 of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on July 16, 1939 in Vevay, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Carmen Warner Browning. She was raised in Vevay and graduated from Vevay High School. She was united in marriage to Ralph G. Smith, who died October 30, 2009. She retired as a line worker for Grote Industries in Madison. Laverne died on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 1:16 a.m. at the Arbor Grove Senior Care and Nursing Home in Greensburg, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY Laverne will be missed by her loving friends, Christy and Frank Owens and Polly Temple. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Browning, her mother, Carmen Warner Browning, her husband, Ralph G. Smith, died October 30, 2009, and her brother, Donald Browning.

MEMORIAL CEREMONYMemorial services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., by Pastor Chris Chavez at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow at a later date in the Vevay Cemetery in Vevay, Indiana.
