"Doug" Stephen Douglas Kinman Obituary (1950

Mr. Stephen Douglas "Doug" Kinman, age 73, of Greendale, Indiana formerly of Madison, entered this life on August 30, 1950 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Roy and Hazel Elizabeth Oatman Kinman. He resided almost his entire life in Jefferson County and graduated in 1970 from Madison Consolidated High School. On July 18, 1970 Doug was united in marriage to Rita Madeline Elbert in Madison, Indiana. This happy union of 53 years was blessed with sons, Bryan and Roy. He worked for the Railroad for almost ten years then worked for Blue Bird in Dayton, Ohio. He later worked for Precision as a welder, a painter for Ehlers Welding in North Vernon and for 12 years at Meese Inc. in production. He last worked for Century Tube Mills in Production in Madison, Indiana. He was of the Apostolic faith where he was baptized. He enjoyed membership in the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 Sons of the American Legion. What he loved best was being a papaw to his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going 4-wheeling, and sitting on the back porch being a jokester. Doug died on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 6:20 p.m. at the Envive Health Care in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Please Click Here to View the Funeral Service Recording A LOVING FAMILY Doug will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Rita Madeline Elbert Kinman of Greendale, Indiana; his son, Bryan Kinman and his wife, Angie of Greendale, Indiana; his grandchildren, Cassandra Palazzolo and her husband, Nico, Elaina Kinman, Dawson Kinman and Ethan Kinman; his brother, Donald Kinman of Fairborn, Ohio; his sisters, Jo Puckett of Michigan, Juanita Buchanan of Lafayette, Indiana, Gerri Peelman of Vevay, Indiana, Margaret "Tootsie" Duncan of Washington, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Kinman, died July 11, 1954, his mother, Hazel Elizabeth Oatman Kinman, died August 30, 1983, his son, Stephen Roy Kinman, died December 18, 2007, his sisters, Alma Jean Coker, died December 24, 1979, Shirley Ann Bustle, died February 5, 2020, and Nancy Jane Kinman, died May 12, 1948, his brothers, Larry W. Kinman, died October 1, 2022 and William Paul Kinman, died February 16, 1948. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow at a later date in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison, Indiana VISITATION Friends may visit Sunday from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
