Donald Ray "Duck" Morris Obituary (1961

Mr. Donald Ray "Duck" Morris, age 63 of Hanover, Indiana, entered this life on July 27, 1961 in Salem, Indiana. He was the loving son of Frank and Linda K. Bowers Morris. He was raised in Salem where he attended school. On October 23, 1991, he was united in marriage to Freda Jewel Gregory in Salem, Indiana. This happy union of nearly 33 years was blessed with sons, Matthew and Eugene. He was a member of the Laborer's Union Local 795 in New Albany for the past 35 years. He retired after 23 years of service with Teton Construction in Madison, Indiana. He resided in Paoli for 15 years before moving to Hanover on June 21, 2008. Donald was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and making walking sticks, hatchets, and knives. He was an expert at operating his forge at home to build and make things. Donald died on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 1:43 a.m. in the emergency room at the Norton King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. Bowers Morris Walls of Paoli, Indiana; his sisters, Jeannie Morris of Paoli, Indiana, Frankie Jo Morris of Hyden, Kentucky, Edie Begley and her husband, Greg of Paoli, Indiana; his brothers, Frankie Morris and his wife, Betty of Paoli, Indiana and Robert Morris of Jeffersonville, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Morris and his sister, Robbie Morris. VISITATION Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre - Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street in Hanover, Indiana.
