Dalphene Pearl Shadrick Ford Obituary (1935

Mrs. Dalphene Pearl Shadrick Ford, age 76, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on February 26, 1935 in Madison, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late, Shelby Sr. & Adelia Kidwell Shadrick. She was raised by her loving grandparents, the late, Mason & Pearl Kidwell. She resided all of her life in Jefferson County and was a 1952 graduate of Madison High School. She was united in marriage on December 27, 1958 in Madison, Indiana to Robert Junior Ford. This union was blessed with two daughters one son and a son she was blessed to raise. She worked early in life as a waitress at the Clifty Inn and as a telephone operator. After she was married she was a devoted farm wife, mother & grandmother. She enjoyed collecting dolls, reading, sewing, listening to music and celebrating all holidays with her family, especially Halloween. She attended the Wirt Baptist Church. Dalphene died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 3:55 p.m. at the Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Dalphene will be missed by her loving daughters: Susan Mora Phillips & her husband, Gerald of Madison, Indiana, Julia Melita Cain & her husband, Bill of Deputy, Indiana; her loving sons: Robert Jeffery "Bobby" Ford of Madison, Indiana, Larry Robert Ford & his wife, Shelia of Madison, Indiana; sister: Patricia Wells of New Bern, North Carolina; sister in law: Edith Ford of Dupont, Indiana; her grandchildren: David Ford; Robbie Ford & his wife, Cheryl; Chad Ford & his wife, Katie; Rachel Jones & her husband, Adam; Amanda Borne & her husband, Micah; , Charissa Reedy & her husband, Brent; Barton Phillips; Danica Phillips; Kayla Ford & her companion, Michael Hylton; Kassondra Ford; Lyndsey Ford; Crystal Field & her husband, J.D.; B.J. Cain, Cuyler Cain, & Hannah Cain,; her great grandchildren: Bryce, J.T., Clayton, Katelyn & Zaiden; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Shelby Shadrick, Sr.; her mother, Adelia Kidwell Shadrick Barrar; her grandparents that raised her, Mason & Pearl Kidwell; her husband, Robert Junior Ford, died, Oct. 6, 2010; her brother & sister in law, Shelby "Sonny" Jr. & Renee Shadrick; her brothers in law, Donald Wells & Melvin H. Ford. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 7:00 p.m., by Pastor Troy Hedges at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. SPECIAL SERVICES Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, Indiana. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to the Wirt Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society or Jennings County Hospice. Cards are available at the funeral home.
