Daisy L. Mefford Jones

Daisy L. Mefford Jones, age 97 of Greenville, Indiana formerly of Madison, Indiana entered this life on March 4, 1929 in Worthville, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late Raymond and Fannie Ligon Mefford. She was raised in Worthville, Kentucky and graduated high school in Sanders, Kentucky. On May 18, 1946 she was united in marriage to Charles William Jones, Sr. in Carrollton, Kentucky. This happy union of 65 years was blessed with sons, Charles William, Jr., Tommy, and Greg. She was a devoted wife, loving mom and mama. She was a homemaker all of her life and enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, and holiday baking. She enjoyed mowing the lawn and weed eating until the age of 96. She was a talented artist that enjoyed painting and Diamond painting. She had resided in Greenville the past eight years. She had been a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Madison, Indiana. Daisy passed from this life on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 5:40 a.m. at the Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana.

Daisy is survived by her loving sons, Charles William Jones, Jr. of Greenville, Indiana; Greg Jones and his wife, Nancy of Greenville, Indiana; her grandchildren, Jaime Huskey, Chrystal Jones, Angie Phagen, Mike Briddle, Katie Jones Waters, Stacie Jones, Emily Jones Wainscott, Skyler Jones, and Teresa Brumer; her eight great grandchildren; her sister, Sue Taylor of Hanover, Indiana; her brother, Ronald Mefford and his wife, Mary Frances of Carrollton, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Fannie Ligon Mefford; her beloved husband of 65 years, Charles William Jones, Sr. died July 24, 2011, her son, Tommy Jones, her grandson, Tommy Jones, Jr., her brothers, Eugene, Joseph, Raymond, Jr., and William Mefford; her sisters, Myrtle Pierce, Nadine Smith, Katherine Tilley, and Wanda Richmond.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment to follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.

Visitation will be conducted on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
