Colonel (Ret) Frank T. Hall Obituary (1927

Colonel (Ret) Frank T. Hall, age84, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on February 25, 1927 in Columbia, Iowa. He was the son of the late, Curtis Ancil & Lulu Mae Tallman Hall. He was raised in Columbia, Iowa and was a 1944 graduate of Knoxville High School. He was inducted into the United States Army on May 26, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska and rose to the rank of Private First Class serving the Headquarters 5th Replacement Depot during World War II. He was honorably discharged on October 28, 1945 receiving the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal. He re-enlisted and was inducted on October 29, 1945 and served in the 1342nd ASU during World War II. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 19, 1946 from Fort George Meade, Maryland and he received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Army Occupation Medal (Japan) and the World War II Victory Medal. He received his Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Iowa in 1958 and his Master's from Indiana University in 1961 in Guidance and Counseling. He was then inducted into the United States Army Reserves and soon rose to the rank of Sergeant on September 2, 1948, serving the Hq & Hq Company First Battalion 168th Infantry. He then rose to the rank of Major and served as the Director of Occupational Therapy at the 5010th US Army Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky and retired after 41 years of service as Colonel. Frank was united in marriage on June 6, 1970 in Madison, Indiana to Anna Louise Horn. Frank had resided in the Madison Community since 1966 and retired after 25 years of service with the Madison State Hospital as the Director of Locational Therapy Program. He had worked previously in Pennsylvania and at the Muscatatuck State Hospital in Butlerville, Indiana. He was a faithful member of the Kent United Methodist Church and had served on various committees and had served as a Lay Leader at the church. He had served as an active volunteer at the Madison-Jefferson County Public Library. He was a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the Indiana Blacksmith Association and the Jefferson County Historical Society. Frank enjoyed donating Blood to the American Red Cross faithfully for many years. Frank died Monday, April 25, 2011 at 11:10 p.m. at the Hanover Health & Rehab Center in Hanover, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Frank will be missed by his loving wife: Anna Louise Hall of Hanover, Indiana; his loving daughters: Linda Hubbard & her husband, Tom of Adel, Iowa, Virginia Weber & her husband, Harold, Jr. of Madison, Indiana, Christine Hall of Des Moines, Iowa; his loving sisters: Edith I. Stutesman of Tucson, Arizona, Edna Mae Van Cleve of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren: Nicole Hubbard, Steven E. Weber & Jessica K. Hubbard; his special niece & caregiver: Harriet A. Wood of Milton, Kentucky; several other nieces, nephews & other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Ancil Hall died in 1961 and Lulu Mae Tallman Hall died in 1992. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 29, 2011 at 4:00 p.m., by the Rev. Howard V. Bell at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Friday from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. SPECIAL SERVICES Full military honors will be conducted at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Chapel by Jefferson Post 9, of the American Legion and the Fort Knox Ceremonial Unit .
