Aloysious "Pee Wee" Sevier Obituary (1932

RESCHEDULED DUE TO WEATHER SEE BELOW Aloysious "Pee Wee" Sevier, age 91 of Louisville, Kentucky and formerly of Madison and Deputy, entered this life on December 10, 1932 in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Herman E., Sr. and Isabell Margaret Schureck Sevier. He was raised Catholic in Jeffersontown and moved to Deputy, Indiana at the age of 13. He was inducted into the United States Army on March 10, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana during the Korean War. He rose to the rate of Corporal and was honorably discharged on March 9, 1955 at Fort Hood, Texas receiving the National Defense Service Medal. He was blessed with three children, Allen, Valerie and Janis. He worked heavy construction most of his life and retired from Teton Corporation in Madison. He also enjoyed helping on the farm and raising tobacco. He moved to Louisville in February of 2022 to be near his daughter, Janis. Aloysious died on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 4:47 p.m. at the Glen Ridge Health Campus in Louisville, Kentucky. Manning of Madison, Indiana; his daughters, Valerie Sevier of Kokomo, Indiana, and Janis Sevier Guinchigliani and her husband, Tony of Louisville, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Jaime Lewis (Joe) and Nicholas Sanders (Alejandro); his great grandchildren, Kate and Seth Lewis; his brother, Lawrence J. "Shorty " Sevier of Deputy, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman E. Sevier, Sr., died March 2, 1943, his mother, Isabell Margaret Schureck Sevier Dunaway Algeier, died June 8, 1971, his brothers, Charles Edward Sevier, died December 21, 1972, Herman E. Sevier, Jr., died January 30, 1986, and Vernie L. "Joe" Sevier, died August 30, 2014, his sister, Mary E. Sevier, died in 1937 and his wife, Sharon L. Sevier, died on December 23, 2003. MILITARY HONORSA final salute with military honors will be conducted Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 2:00 pm, by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may visit Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.
