Alexander P. "Alex" Nemeth Obituary (1941

Mr. Alexander Paul Nemeth, age 81, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on November 18, 1941 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the loving son of the late Alexander Charles and Rose Levacinsky Nemeth. Alex was raised in Pennsylvania and graduated from Dell Halls High School. He then attended The College of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas and received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He went on to receive his Masters of Teaching degree at Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma. On May 25, 1963, Alex was united in marriage to Patricia Lee Hendricks. This happy union of 60 years was blessed with four children, Christine, Cathy, Paul, and Cori. Alex was first employed with Davenport High School in Davenport, Oklahoma as the band director from 1964 to 1968. In 1968, Alex began working for Holdenville High School in Holdenville, Oklahoma as the band director until 1978. In 1978, Alex and Pat moved their family to Madison, Indiana. Alex began working for Madison Consolidated Junior High as the band director until he retired in 1997. Alex was devoted to teaching music and made an impact on many lives. Alex was a collector of many things such as beer cans, coins and coffee cups. He had a green thumb and a house full of plants. He also had a passion for photography, playing tennis, traveling, camping, and being in nature. Alex was a very skilled craftsman and could build or fix anything. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church where he sang in the choir. He was a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa/pop-pop. Alex died on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 2:02 p.m. at his home in Madison, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, Alexander Charles Nemeth, his mother, Rose Levacinsky Nemeth, his sister, Constance Cook, his brother, Charles Nemeth, his son in law, Chris Edward Perry, and his great grandchild, Josiah Andrew DeLorenzo. MASS OF A CHRISTIAN BURIALMass of a Christian Burial will be conducted Friday, November 10, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., by Father Christopher A. Craig at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 413 East Second Street Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery in Madison, Indiana VISITATION Friends may visit Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 413 East Second Street Madison, Indiana.
