J.B. Weaver, age 86 of Moorefield, Indiana entered this life on December 18, 1923 in Moorefield, Indiana. He was the son of the late Rollin Beecher & Clarabell Griffith Weaver. He resided all of his life in the Moorefield community and was a 1942 graduate of Vevay High School. He was inducted into the United States Army on March 15, 1943 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. He rose to the rank of Technician Fifth Grade, serving the 177th Ordnance Depot Company during World War II. He fought in the battles and campaigns of the Southern Philippines. He was honorably discharged on January 20, 1946 at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, receiving the American Theater Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Star, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal. J.B. was united in marriage on July 12, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky to Frances Opal Caplinger. To this happy union arrived one daughter, Jean to bless their home. In 1946 he began a career as a mechanic at Brown's Garage & Implements in Moorefield, Indiana. In 1953, he began working as a mechanic at the Standerford Ford Garage in Madison for three years. In 1956, he became co-owner of Clements - Weaver Garage in Moorefield and worked there for thirteen years. He had retired from the Madison State Hospital in Madison, where he worked as a supervisor of psychiatric attendants for over thirty years. He was a faithful member of the Long Run Baptist Church for over seventy five years. He had served as Deacon, Moderator, Sunday School Superintendent and as a Trustee. He had been a member for over fifty years of the Switzerland Masonic Lodge No. 122 F. & A.M. and had held every office and was a Past Master of the Lodge as well as the Bennington Chapter No. 407, Order of Eastern Star and had been a Past Worthy Patron. He was a dedicated member of the Moorefield Community Fire Department and was former board member. He was a member of the Vevay American Legion Post 185. J.B. was known for his quick wit and he saying that "It'll Be Alright". He enjoyed riding motorcycles all of his life and tinkering on the farm and you could often hear him whistling a favorite tune. J.B. died Friday, July 23, 2010 at 6:30 a.m. at his home in Moorefield, Indiana.

J.B. will be missed by his loving wife of sixty three years: Frances Opal Caplinger Weaver of Moorefield, Indiana; his loving daughter: Jean Thurnall & her husband: Darrell of Moorefield, Indiana; his loving brother: Paul Weaver & his wife: Mary Jane of Fresno, California; his grandchildren: Kristina Lynn Rayls; Karrie Ann Rayls and her companion: Cory Hankins; and Lila Jean Rayls; his great grandchildren: Kaitlynn Michelle Rayls, Emilee Jean Gross, Cody J. Hankins, Caden James Hankins, Aaron Isaac Youngblood & Andrew Joseph Youngblood; his great great grandson: Tristen Rayls; his step grandsons: David Thurnall & his wife: Heather; and Patrick Thurnall; his step great grandchildren: Ashton, Cody, Torrie, Destiny, Kurt, Ethan & Elijah; his sister in law: Fern Metcalf of Troy, Ohio; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents: Rollin Beecher & Clarabell Griffith Weaver.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., by the Rev. David Dicken at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery near Moorefield, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may call Sunday from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
SPECIAL SERVICES
Masonic services will be conducted on Sunday at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by, Switzerland Masonic Lodge No. 122 F. & A.M. Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by Jefferson Post 9, of the American Legion & Vevay American Legion Post 185 and Vevay VFW Post 5396. .
