Norma Nadine Wilson, 78, of Madison, departed peacefully from her earthly body at 12:02 a.m., February 23, 2010 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home. On April 7, 1931, she was born the youngest of four sisters in the family farmhouse on land that was known as, "Big Creek" and later claimed as part of the former Jefferson Proving Ground. She was the daughter of Claude and Cecelia (Hill) Wilson, both of whom preceded her in death in the 1970's. She was a 1949 graduate of North Madison High School and spent most of her life in the Madison area. In the early years of her employment she worked as a telephone operator. She also worked in the office of Dr. Beetem and eventually earned her LPN nursing degree. From 1958-1980 she worked as a psychiatric LPN attendant at the Madison State Hospital. After 22 years of nursing service, she began traveling across the United States. She especially enjoyed visits with her granddaughter in California. Over the years she has enjoyed many activities which included trips to the ocean, fishing, gardening, reading and being a grandmother.
A LOVING FAMILY
She is survived by her son: Mark S. Holt of Madison, Indiana; her daughter: M. Diane Signore of California and her granddaughter: Alexa R. "Lexie" Signore; one cousin, several nieces, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant twin children; her three sisters: Lucille Adams, Frances Gosman & Florie Craig Thacker.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., by Rev. John A. Meyer & Rev. Christopher Craig at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Big Creek Cemetery, Madison, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may call Friday from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
ROSARY SERVICE
The Rosary will bre prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
